All Republicans or politically interested students are welcome to attend our meetings, join the club, participate in our many social events, help further the agenda and goals of the party and club, and elect candidates that will promote our positive message.

Tuesday at 9pm in 71 Schaeffer Hall we will be having our UI College Republican elections for a new board that will serve the 2011 year. The positions are Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, and Events Coordinator. The process is pretty informal. You will need someone to nominate you, and then give a short 1 to 2 minute speech, and then we will vote either by acclimation or ballot if it is contested.
If anyone is interested in running, or has any questions, please email me!
We will also be discussing Former Minnesota Governor (and probable Presidential candidate) Tim Pawlenty’s visit to the IMU on Monday February 7th at 3:45pm. We are looking for a few more volunteers, so if you are free from 2:15-5 on Mondays let me know.
Please invite all your facebook friends that live in the Iowa City area to the facebook event (http://www.facebook.com/#!/event.php?eid=196059733738408).
President Obama started his campaign based on the young vote in Iowa. We have an opportunity to personally meet most candidates for the Republican nomination for President, so lets not disappoint! Having any Republican come into Iowa City is a pretty big statement.
Hope all is well,
Natalie Ginty
“If prosperity were easy, everyone around the world would be prosperous. If freedom were easy, everyone around the world would be free. If security were easy, everybody around the world would be secure. They are not! None of this is going to be easy, but this is the United States of America. It takes an extraordinary effort, it takes extraordinary commitment, it takes extraordinary strength. Valley Forge wasn’t easy. Going to the moon wasn’t easy. Settling the West wasn’t easy. We are the American people. We have seen difficulties before, and we always overcome them. We are going to have some differences, but it is about putting our head down as Americans and getting it done!” Tim Pawlenty
We are proud to announce the brand new University of Iowa College Republican website. Over the coming days and weeks, we plan to work to make this website the central hub of UICR activities, so be sure to watch here for new and exciting developments!
Roxanne Conlin, the Democrat candidate facing Senator Chuck Grassley, will be at the Pentacrest today (Tuesday) at 1:30 to speak. It would be great to have some people there with some difficult questions!
We also will be having our third meeting tonight at 9pm in 61 Schaeffer Hall. Come by and discuss how we are going to win this November!
Finally we will be having a phonebank at Victory Headquarters Wednesday night from 6:30 to 8:30. If you are able to come please email Natalie Ginty, and we will figure out a car pool situation.
